Fifty-seven young people are pursuing the title of best intern

Fifty-seven candidates, who have caught the eye of internship providers with their outstanding results, are competing in the best intern competition ‘Praktik Cum Laude’, organised by the Estonian Employers’ Confederation. As of today, it is possible to get acquainted with the candidates and choose your favourite over a period of one week on the competition’s Facebook page.

‘Appreciation of internships has increased year-by-year, and despite corona – which placed both students and employers in a difficult situation – a record number of candidates were submitted to this year’s competition,’ said Anneli Entson, Education Adviser at the Estonian Employers’ Confederation.

‘This year, we can see the trend that young people are completing an additional internship on their own initiative – in addition to what is prescribed in the curriculum – in order to improve their skills. Young people understand that in order to be successful on the job market, it is necessary to show initiative. This development is welcomed by employers – this is how we are able to find the most motivated future employees’, said Entson.

The vote for the public’s favourite will last until 20 October, and the winner will also be rewarded at the awards ceremony.

The best interns are being recognised in four categories – the best intern in vocational education, the best intern in higher education, the best intern in work-based training, and the best international student intern. Winners of the competition will be determined by an evaluation committee, comprised of representatives of the Estonian Employers’ Confederation and the Ministry of Education and Research.

The ‘Praktik Cum Laude’ competition is organised by the Estonian Employers’ Confederation. The project is funded by the European Social Fund, the Republic of Estonia, and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation.

You can find additional information about the campaign on the website of the Estonian Employers’ Confederation and the Praktik Cum Laude Facebook page.
